SignupGenius or VolunteerSpot?

If you've used both, could you provide a brief rundown of each one's strengths and weaknesses? Thanks.

Bump.

I didn't even know what these were until I googled how to organize volunteers. I need to increase volunteering at my child's school and thought something like VolunteerSpot would help. So I'd also like to hear any feedback on these or other sites.

I've used sign up
Genius and found it very helpful. Can't compare the 2 though...

Any other feedback?

Sign up genius is great!

Sign Up Genius is soooo easy. Love it.

Sign up genius is awesome. Really makes organizing a large number of people so much easier. I've never used VolunteerSpot, though, so I can't compare.

I only know that signup genius seems pretty commonly used, ive been part of groups/events that were organized this way. As simply a user, i thhink there are a lot of pros and cons, but it seems generally useful.

Never been asked to use volunteerspot before.

I organized the volunteers for a sports team on sign up genius. It is easy to set up and use and people seemed to like it.

I've used them both and find Signup Genius easier to use for organizing events - like who brings what for a potluck or signing up for time slots to fill at an event.

Volunteer Spot is better for organizing things over a longer stretch of time. Say your a teacher and you want parents to come in every Tuesday afternoon over the whole year.

There is definitely a lot of overlap though!

I hate the fact that they require another login and password to remember. Such a pain and so intrusive!

SignUpGenius doesn't require an account. Having one makes it easier to find your stuff if you have multiple sign ups, but you don't have to have one if you're just signing up for something.

genius seems easier. I have both going right now and I think volunteer spot is more labor intensive.

Signup genious requires volunteers to remember password. This is problematic if you run multiple events throughout the year. I don't find VolunteerSpot that difficult to set up. Also the volunteer spot signup form can be embeded on your website.
