Hilaria Baldwin - At it again

It seems Alec knew. He met her parents long before the wedding, plus CAA, his lawyers, marriage license and pre-nup obviously left no stone unturned. This was likely a scheme they carried on to soften his image and broaden his appeal, plus all the kids and the young wife make the aging actor look virile.

But why the Spanish persona, why not just be real? It’s crazy, all of it.

Like did they wake up this morning and instead of saying “buenos dias, te amo” and should we have churros con chocolate for breakfast? what did she say? Did they speak Spanish to the kids like usual. Awkward. Did she eat tortillas today? I need to know the details.

There are plenty of instagram clips featuring the kids speaking English.

Don’t the nannies speak Spanish? That was probably a requirement for the job. If the children have been spoken to in Spanish since they were babies, they likely do speak Spanish.

Apparently she has slipped in and out of a Spanish accent in the past. Here is a compilation of such moments caught on tape so you can get a sense of how fake the accent is:

IRL she has an American accent.

They were living life as Spanish Americans, she adopted the culture and lived it. So, now what? Will that continue, or will she talk like a Bostonian and call herself Hillary?

Now being bicultural that could be normal but considering her parents are not Spanish - I definitely need mor wig an explanation. Do her and her brother really speak in Spanish - that is weird because you can’t get Latino kids who grow up here to speak In Spanish to their siblings (they always choose the majority language) do they really regularly speak in Spanish as she was implying by showing that text?

Fluent speaker here (not native) and I agree with your husband that her accent is good, but she does not sound like a native speaker at all. Her answers are short and simple, barely full sentences. If this is the best she can do, there is no way she is speaking Spanish with anybody in her family.

This is a very good question. Was he just playing along, like he was dealing with an Alzheimer’s patient? Was it a sex thing? I vote for it being a sex thing.

But surly Alec would have better choices, no? He chose a scam artist wife just because she was cute?

Where did it get Hilaria Baldwin, career wise? She has a podcast- anyone can have one. She's done some sponsored posts- many have done so. Entertainment shows cover her like they cover any other celebrity wife who loves the spotlight. Her Spanish fakery didn't land her any points with anyone except, seemingly, Alec.

This simply isn't the same as a Jess Krug at George Washington University or Rachel Dolezal at the NAACP, sorry.

I'd be surprised if the nannies were from Spain. A Spanish accent from Spain--as well as a lot of vocabulary and slang--is very different from Spanish from Central or South America. The culture, food, etc. is also different so unless the nannies are from Spain, the kids aren't getting an authentically Spanish-from-Spain experience.

Vanity fair Spain article: She learned to spell her new surname whe she got married, and that her parents didn't understand her until the third time she pronounced it.

I had that same thought...wonder how the dynamic is between Alec and Hillary today.

Keep telling yourself that she didn’t benefit from it. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

It seems to have led to marrying Alec Baldwin. He’s loaded, a famous A list actor. She is set for life.

Are you kidding? As in, they’re so foreign they didn’t know how to spell Baldwin?
