| We've been going without a kitchen for over a moth now and I'm starting to run out ideas--Any microwave quick meals that are somewhat nutritious and tasty? |
|
Cold breakfast - cottage cheese and fruit or muffins (not really that nutritious though)
Hot/Microwave- frozen microwaveable pancakes (they don't aste that bad, but they do get hard like other breads) |
| You can microwave bacon, eggs, oatmeal. |
| I should have mentioned this is for 4 kids aged 6-14. 2 won't go near an egg, so. |
| OP, here. And they act like cottage cheese is vomit. No matter how much sweet yummy fruit I put in it. |
|
oatmeal
freezer waffles or french toast (trader joe's) danish pancakes (trader joes) toast with peanut butter toast with cheese |
| We microwave sausages, usually the kind that are already fully cooked. You can make oatmeal in a microwave with quick oats in a minute to a minute and 30 seconds. |
| can u make a bannana, pumpkin or cranberry bread? PB on toast, cheese, fish, meat and bread, pb on banana with honey, leftovers? |
sorry-you can buy the breads, even croissants, crumpets, english muffins |
| Yup - stuff you can put in a toaster oven or pour hot water on or microwave. They now sell pre-made frozen breakfast oatmeal etc. as well. Waffles. Muffins. We did smoked salmon/cream cheese. We got one of those instant plug in hot water boilers, and that was great. For yourself, make cold-pressed coffee. |
| I feed my children sandwiches for breakfast - it started b/c they were always asking for pieces of whatever I was making for lunch. I figure it's more nutritious than a bowl of cereal. PB&J, hummus, avocado, cream cheese & jelly - sometimes on english muffins or bagels, but just as often on bread or sandwich thins. We also do a lot of apples/bananas and peanut butter, smoothies, and cheese sticks. |
| Do you have a rice cooker? If so and it has a timer, it's super easy to make steel-cut oats overnight. Oats, water, brown sugar, cut up fruit, nuts, spices. |
|
Muesli. Google a recipe.
Or splurge on some lox and cream cheese. |
