Radon inspection- Needed if remediation already present

Anonymous
We are considering putting an offer on a house that is already being remediated for radon. Should a radon contigency still be included as a contigency, or will that be covered by the home inspection contigency? That is, is it enough to make sure the remediation is working properly during the home inspection or must this be it's own contigency?

Appreciate any input!

You need a radon inspection. Don't you want to know if the mitigation is working? A regular home inspection doesn't cover it but some home inspectors also do radon testing. You have to ask and it's an additional fee. Look on Angie's List.

Definitely still get it to make sure the system is working properly. It should be fine but better to find any issues before buynig the house.

We recently put an offer in on a house with an apparent functioning mediation system. We did a radon test and levels were 23.
