I'm trying to ramp down the sugar consumption in my kid. He loves yogurt, but the vanilla has a ton of sugar. He doesn't like plain, and refused to eat siggis. Anyone have ideas for the lowest-sugar vanilla yogut? (I am hoping someone else has researched this).
Make your own: Greek yogurt, a bit of vanilla, a bit of honey.
+1 I use an alcohol free vanilla extract from Trader Joe's. The vanilla extract is made with some sugar. |
Not vanilla, but Noosa honey yogurt is delicious and seems lower in sugar than other brands. Mostly I make my own, but I get this sometimes for a treat.
I mix plain and vanilla yogurt for my DD. Less sweet and she likes it.
I get 2% plain greek (not as sour as the nonfat) and mix with honey and a dash of vanilla and DC like it. I also buy yobaby vanilla and it has more sugar per ounce than greek but the serving size is very small (it packs a good punch of calories/fat/protein for such a small size) so the total sugar consumed is less than a container of say chobani vanilla.
add a bit of maple syrup to siggi's...will still be lower sugar than the others.
You might also try adding stevia drops!
