Jeff, I realize you try hard not to censor here but we have an emotional vampire on some of the rape threads. I wonder if you can step in? You've got a 15 year old who has committed suicide and there are trolls there calling her an idiot and saying it's just as much her fault. I know you generally think people have a right to their opinion, but think about what those comments are actually contributing to. They're upsettting people, generating a ton of animosity, and anger. Some people responding are raging, probably taking it with them to the rest of the day. At one point, one of the trolls suggested that the rapist boys were "just as bad" as the girl (whose sin was getting drunk and passing out, I guess). Do we have no respect for the family of this girl who may read this? Or for the rest of us who have to read that? I'm tired of these emotional vampires trolling on sensitive issues to get lulz. Consider banning them unless you really have reason to believe they're one of our regular participants who just has a bad opinion. |
I just replied to your post in the rape thread and it looks like you misread one of the posts. So, it wasn't really as bad as you thought. The poster that you quoted is a regular poster here.
