Haha, I get a kick out of the ones where the poster's own posts are quoted in blue boxes and then the poster comments again or even just writes +1 or +1000! Those are the best!

Some child has a lot of time on their paws.

Yes, so true. It's almost as though someone is trying to advertise test prep services.

no, see the child is singular so it would be "some child has a lot of time on his or her paws."

"their" is a plural pronoun.

It is not gramatically correct to the plural pronoun their to represent neutral gender woth singular nouns.

GT students would know this.

What is a tout?

Anonymous
Never mind, looked it up.

"...a tout is any person who solicits business or employment in a persistent and annoying manner..."

Whew, LOTS of that going on on this board, for all sorts of businesses. You can hardly have an intelligent conversation here without someone trying to get people to buy something!

Anonymous
There is no charge for my services.

Here's even more:

"According to the American Bar Association, touting occurs when a person advertises, promotes, or otherwise describes a security for sale without disclosing that the person is being paid to do so."

This is so descriptive. A real consumer beware moment.
