If it really was as simple as "I don't want to sit next to that guy," and she felt that was more important than attending Carter's funeral (!), I think that would show some weakness/pettiness on her part.

But I think it's bigger than that. Maybe she's just had it with the whole DC thing. My best to Michelle Obama, she was an awesome First Lady and I hope she's well!
