Tampa Bay days away from getting largest hurricane in city’s history

It may seem like a small change, but if it holds, it will probably save tens of billions of dollars due to the eyewall blowing water out of the bay instead of into the bay.

Bad news for Sarasota though.

Unfortunately, the track seems to have shifted a bit back north again.

Anyone still in a flood zone near the bay needs to vamoose. If the eyewall gets oriented so it pushes water into the bay as it approaches, the flooding will be biblical.

People don’t like being lectured to. The Dems need to get better at showing rather than telling.

Dems: "Evacuate, this is serious, and this is why we need to fund NOAA and pay attention to climate change"

MAGAs: "Don't lecture us!!!"

....

MAGAs: "Help, the hurricane wiped us out and I nearly got killed in it!"

Dems: "We told you..."

MAGAs: "Don't lecture us!"

REALITY is what keeps showing you. Why to MAGAs have such a hard time accepting REALITY?

Stop trolling. All Floridians here are voting for Harris. Go cry about it.

Do what you do but climate change is real so vote accordingly.

Yes, and so is the very real need for the government agencies and support that clowns like Trump and Desantis and other MAGAs want to cut because they don’t actually care about the well being of citizens and want to fill the void of government with private businesses that will exploit citizens for profit.

You get the leadership you deserve when you vote, so vote accordingly.

You get the leadership the majority/plurality voted for, regardless of whom you voted for or what you "deserve."

Florida's population is like 45:55 blue:red, but that's enough to keep the GOP in charge of the state, even when the major metro areas are blue.

Absolutely. and then there is nothing to indicate that this type of event will not continue to occur. This was predicted and very little action has been taken to either try to stop the warming or to reengineer infrastructure to survive the new climate realities. The strategy seems to be just a chaotic retreat.

I don’t understand this kind of post. Either you’re a troll or you’re stupid. As there are undoubtedly many who will think like you’re posting, though, I hope they don’t ask for anyone to endanger their own lives to rescue them.

The trolling about Florida and on the political board generally has intensified due to the election and Florida being into play this time around.

Joe has finally lost his cool with Trump’s bs and “outright lies”. It’s about time. Trump is endangering Americans.

There are 50 active 50 tornado watches in central FL right now with an extremely large tornado heading for Orlando…

No, I got that. It just seems like such a dumb way to troll. I guess even though Trump has lowered the discourse to subterranean, I still don’t find a lot of joy in people joking about a situation in which we know people are going to die, and still the GOP will pretend that this has nothing to do with the warming oceans.

Global cooling is causing more rain and even the deserts are greening.

I think they're all being knocked out.

How do people not understand that you can't have such a huge influx of people and no restraint on development in Florida without these ramifications? No, you can't close Florida to newcomers. You can curb developers from developing too quickly and too shabbily.

It’s spun, baby.

Choices were made to have a tax-free, regulation free MAGA utopia where climate change and experts and wokeness were banned.

And people still won’t understand.

While warming is good, cooling is deadly. We need more CO2 to save lives.
