Which two actors have/had the greatest on-screen chemistry?

Charlize Theron and Jon Hamm were on Graham Norton together. The chemistry was palpable. I'd love to see them together.

S Bullock + K reeves.

I still say Angelina and Brad. Jesus of course they got together - see the movie. They totally had it. Brad and George second

Actually Mickey ORourke and K Basinger.

But you know a lot of chemistry is about acting too. I could say Madeline Stowe and Daniel Day Lewis - I mean they are paid as leads up smoulder. In some level they just have to perform but def standouts given true feelings for one another makes it awesome.

Ziva and Tony - NCIS

Yes! It was mentioned and I had to go back and rewatch the trilogy.

I loved them. I was so happy when the characters ended up together.

Yes.

For smoldering chemistry, there's so much in The English Patient - Ralph Fiennes, Kristen Scott Thomas, Juliette Binoche, the - I'm sorry I don't know the name - but the dude with the hair.

But Lost in Translation was so interesting. It's unconventional. But very relatable. Very different people in very different circumstances finding themselves way out of their normal orbit. That palpable tension. Very well done.

+10000

My Gen X top 3:

1. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson
2. Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd
3. Matt Frederick and Amanda Pays

Honorable mentions:
Rob Morrow and Janine Turner
Lucy Lawless and Renee O’Connor

We're rewatching Northern Exposure before bed, and I forgot how much chemistry Joel and Maggie had - and what wonderful weirdos they all were.

Brad Pitt and Julia Ormond in Legends of the Fall.

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard in Allied.

Hmmm….I see a pattern. Lol.

Ha, this. The chemistry between Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard was electric.

I believe this is the reason for their divorce. It happened around that time. There were rumors at the time he fathered Marion Cotillard's baby. This is the only explanation for the hatred Angie has for him. I don't buy "abusive father" story at all (not that he was not one, but I don't think that's what triggered the divorce).

And she knew how he interacts with his co-stars!!! (So no sympathy for her)!

+1 This is my suspicion as well. Brad and Angelina were together for over a decade and had kids the whole time. I doubt he suddenly changed at the end. He may or may not have been abusive, but that wasn't the reason she went scorched earth on him. She knew the cheating signs because she was the other woman.

I don't think he was heavily drinking the whole time though. His team admitted he physically touched (not in the face or whatever) her kid, the oldest one at that. He crossed a line and was never coming back from it.
