Should I vote republican or a democrat? I despise both parties.

I have not seen functioning government solve much of anything in the last 30 years. As they say " Government: If you think the problems we create are bad, just wait 'til you see our solutions "

You are incredibly ignorant about the government.

No I'm not. You are completely protective of the failure of it.

We would get better outcomes from a random number generator, than Washington DC today. That's a FACT.

You realize the problem is not government- it’s that at one point one of the parties decided they were going to say no to everything, even when they were offered what they wanted. Stop voting for obstructionists and start voting for public servants. You keep voting to give overgrown toddlers with zero understanding of government $180,000 paychecks. So it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

+1. This “all or nothing” attitude has got to stop. Immigration reform was on the table years ago but we got nothing and look where we are now.

Right where the GOP wants us. Cheap labor for their business owning donors and plenty of fresh immigrants to make their bigoted base constantly angry. Of course the GOP doesn’t want to do immigration reform!!

I am voting Green Party and we should all vote for the Green Party. Republicans and Democrats have done nothing for this country. Actually Republicans have accomplished everything harmful for this country but the Democrats are too weak to turn back the damage. So sick of them both.

Congratulations on buying into Russian propaganda, I guess.

I can just look around at standards of living in decline and belief systems turned on their head in the last thirty years. No "Russian" has to tell me that.

Are those your safe words? Democracy? Russia? MAGA?

Well, you keep on keeping on. Whatever it takes for you I guess.

I can’t believe you’re using such rabid, offensive language. Are you trying to attract people to your party or do you just assume they owe you their membership in the GOP?

Tell me this. If the GOP is so awesome, what have they done for the benefit of most Americans’ bottom lines?

I don't believe in the GOP, I believe in conservatism, so I take the lesser of two evils.

You believe for every problem, the solution is to throw more money at it.

If X costs to much, we'll just have the tax payer subsidize it. It's complete BS. X just sees that you believe in subsidies (AKA tax payer dollars) and raises the price to soak up your subsidies.

Your subsidies are there to buy votes. It's disgusting. All of it. You believe in wealth transfer BIGTIME. From people who earn income to big corporations. You just say the opposite to cover for it.

Again, it's disgusting.

Answer the question I asked, not weird accusations you made up. What has the GOP done for the benefit of most Americans’ bottom lines?

Bottom lines? You ARE on the hook for everything owed. Don't tell me how wonderful democrats are vs. republicans. They aren't.

You still can’t answer! Why? Because there is NOTHING the GOP has done or will do that will benefit most Americans’ lives.

And you’re too much of a coward to admit it.

And what have the democrats done? They have been taking us for a ride all these years. I was a staunch democrat but no more. I’m an independent now.

The hit dog will holler. I don’t know if you’re a MAGA or one of the gender Megatrons who call themselves “transgender,” but both of your cults have no place in a civilized society.

So by voting for the Green Party, you are facilitating the Rise of Trump 2.0.

How do you think that will turn out for everyone?

The Demcorats are responsible for virtually all of the GDP and Job growth over the past 40 years. In the face of the narrowest of political margins in Washington they have accomplished quite a lot. Think of how much worse it would be if we had no government regulation, unbridled corporate rule and co-mingling of Radical Christianity in our public policy? That is the modern GOP. But sure, both sides are bad.

Our federal democratic republic form of government has been and still can be a beautiful and effective form of government in the free world. With our two party political system, we need two highly functioning parties in order for there to be the sustained quality in leadership that is needed to maintain a healthy government. Our political parties haven't functioned at an acceptable level for the past few decades and we're now seeing that reflected in a government that appears to be less effective and less efficient than it once was. We simply need our best and brightest running the show and we haven't had that for while.

So you are both-siding "the parties"?

What have the democrats done to undermine the republic?

Nothing. Generally speaking, Dem politicians on the Federal level have served the country in much more respectable way than their Republican counterparts in recent years and a lot of that has to do with the chaos Trump's divisiveness created within the Republican Party. Collectively, Republican and Dem politicians have underperformed for at least the past 20 to 25 years in my opinion. Examples of underperformance would be foreign policy decision mishaps and not getting a sufficient amount of bang for the American taxpayers buck in many ways. Obvious policy blunders have been more commonplace and it's fair for the American taxpayer to expect more in return for the amount of money our Federal Government has spent in recent decades. Sure, certain individual politicians are more to blame for this than others and perhaps politicians of one party are more to blame for this but these are failures of our Federal Government as a whole. There are long standing national issues that Congress has failed to mitigate or resolve despite both parties having had opportunities for successful legislative action with majority control in government. Government is run by people and people aren't perfect but it's fair for the citizens of this wealthy, powerful nation to expect leadership in government to be closer to perfect than they have been in recent decades.

The current tenets of conservatism are (1) preserving dominance of those in power and (2) taking a sh*t on the weakest among us.

Look at OP, clearly raised conservative and religious and unable to really think through what it all means. That’s how. It’s tribalism. In his mind, he would be abandoning his family, his birthright if he fully abandons the Republican Party. Repeat him endlessly across the country, add in a deeply conservative friendly mainstream media and voila.

I used to support the Green Party but they have gone too far off the rails for me. I lost interest when I saw Jill Stein cozying up to Putin, and some comments from Ajamu Baraka that were starting to go horseshoe-effect into the far right.
