So instead, they are choosing to "burn it down" and inflict as much pain on the American public as possible.

To any MoDeRaTeS who bemoan the lack of civility and bipartisanship, this right here is why. When Republicans reach across the aisle, they get punished by their fellow Republicans.

Republicans never reached out. So... there goes your argument. Democrats, on the other hand, VOTE for the Republican CR!!! Without Ukraine aid!!!

You should grovel and thank us.

Yes that was a mistake. Gave the republicans their kind of win- abandoning our allies and supporting Putin’s war of aggression.

Punish Dems! When it's members of his own party who did this to him - and he refused to even negotiate with Dems to save his job!! And he proved over and over he couldn't be trusted!!!

It smacks of when a marriage breaks up due to cheating and the faithful spouse blames the other woman or the other man instead of the spouse.

Or when the non-cheating spouse if blamed for breaking up the family by not accepting the cheating.

They aren't bystanders. The DNC funded extreme right candidates in the midyears and now the Ds teamed up with the hard right to boot the speaker. How can we see them as neutral?

Neutral? Who the heck is sent to Washington to be neutral? Figure out some way to run the country in spite of your differences. Enough with the ridiculous nonsense.

aw.. poor babies. Maybe if the R side didn't have so many cukoos this wouldn't have been a problem for the Rs.

Rs dug their own grave here. Dems just handed them the shovel.

+1 You Republicans are always pointing your finger at why it’s someone else’s fault. Disgusting. Grow up.

No. They aren’t bystanders. They are the opposition party. Whose job it is to try to slow down those things they consider to be a problem and vote for compromise bills they can support. They are also supposed to be making an argument to the American people about why they would be better in the majority. Looks like they are doing their job just fine.

The DNC was willing to negotiate with McCarthy and he said he didn’t want their votes, please explain why they were supposed to save someone against his will?

Basically, no one has any expectations of Republicans - they are assumed to be pure ID monsters with no self-control, no guardrails, no character, no intelligence - and when they behave that way, Ds are just supposed to turn the other cheek, and make compromises and be REASONABLE, so reasonable, even while they are shooting flames at us.

And we do it! We do it!! And still we get blamed for their outrageous conduct. I guess we're supposed to strap them into chairs to stop them from exercising their power in cruel, stupid, and unwise ways - and if we don't, because we can't, then it's our fault they flew out of control.
