Spot on. |
Social life more important than academics. Lots of new money with more cash than class. Plenty of posers who don’t even have money (old or new) but would die rather than admit it. Rampant prejudice that rarely crosses the line to openly explicit racism, but still keeps a toxic environment brewing. |
Did it all start when they moved Tilden back into the heart of the LCA? |
Do and student have parents that are Republicans? |
Yea but their music teacher is the best! |
Tilden has been horrible for our child. Thankfully we are done here. |
No, it was already bad in the 2010s. |
Yes, but the toxic behavior isn’t limited to just one group. |
Can a student take Algebra 2 in 8th at Tilden? We are coming from abroad. |
If there are enough students to fill two classes. Otherwise, they take it at WJ during PD 1 and then go to Tilden for the rest of the day. |
NP - so it hasn't changed at all in the 35 years since I attended (and had a horrific experience)? Good to know. |
Digging up an old thread, but I have been shocked at how a group of 6th grade girls has already formed that is so mean, constantly making fun of and mocking other girls—how they dress, how they talk, social media, whatever. Most came from Farmland with some Luxmanor and GP joining. Decked in Lululemon etc.
Maybe this is the case at other MS but interesting this has been talked about before and is already happening again. At 11 years old!! |
Already happening in current 6th grade. So much for “nothing but up.” |
I do not have a child at Tilden but I would imagine these things happen at all middle schools?
I am curious how you all teach the kids to deal with these other girls. Meaning we can't change other peoples behavior but we can try to encourage our kids not to associate with them? |
