My original point was it’s not actually public transit bc it is taking people from city to city. It’s not light rail or a commuter service like VRE. Aside from that the argument over having a national rAil service v investing in highways and airports in this country is something we all should know about. This is the state of our passenger rail - no high speed and rail service that often fails to serve efficiently. |

I did this once between DC and NYC on the Acela. I can't remember if the second train was an Acela or a regional train but it already had passengers on it. As a result many of us had to stand the remainder of the trip (we were just past Philadelphia). No apology or compensation. It didn't even occur to me to ask because, well, Amtrak. |
Freight trains legal have the right of way, so what do you expect them to do about it? |
