Kitchen island with NO seating

Anonymous
Is it an eat-in kitchen, or does this mean no kitchen seating at all?

I had an island with no seats in my last house, with appliances on three sides, and I loved it. But the fourth side was open to a kitchen table and then a family room. I would prefer an island with no seats in my next house, too.

What’s the point of an island if it can’t be used for sitting at? Otherwise, it’s just a glorified counter.

Do you have a separate breakfast table? We chose to keep island seating because our breakfast table area could fit only a tiny round table. My Kids tend to sit at the island to eat while at the same time charging their devices.

Haven’t met a comfortable stool to sit on yet. Maybe it’s because we are short. I prefer an island with no sink and no seating. We use it for a prep area and cabinets for storage.
