FWIW, a lot of looking outdated isn’t the color but also the frame style and type of wood. |
I love navy. A hunter green or emerald would be my second choice. |
we have navy lowers and white uppers in our kitchen with bright white quartz countertops. love it |
This. Even if you time it perfectly and blue cabinets are back in style when you sell in 10 years, the rest of the finishes won't be. There will be new trends for counter tops, lighting, floors, etc. +1 for DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY! We got Cambria Berwyn with our medium gray/blue island and love it. It's a unique quartz color mixture that we couldn't find anywhere else. |
Navy blue is classic
I’d love it |
Um... all white is not THE THING. THE THING now is dark (navy or green) cabinets. It will last for 3 years, go away for 10, then come back. So if you can wait to sell in 13 years instead of 10, you'll be in great shape OP! |
for the person looking for pics, here's my navy+ grey kitchen. as i said upthread, i made the kitchen for me and assume any future owners will rip it out, i'm fine with that.

bah, trying again. |
oh i see. s3 hates me. fine. |
white is boring and shows soil. Navy will be pretty. Use brass hardware. get shaker style cabinets for a look that won't go out of style. keep the lines clean. good luck |
Blue and white will be very out of style in 10 years. I would pick a wood stain cabinet. Google trends, hop on newest one. Maybe a light color. not sure. |
New kitchen cabinets are like 30k, no? |
See I feel like navy cabinets are already a bit old. Everyone was doing navy islands 5-7 years ago. But I’m some sense navy is classic so … |
We are doing navy cabinets in the laundry room and kids’ bathroom but I think we will do wood stain in the kitchen. |
