I like what this is trying to do but it kind of reminds me of blackamoor which is insanely offensive so I don't love it.

Hell, am I allowed to have Italian cuisine? Mexican? Chinese? Korean? Greek? Ethiopian? Vietnamese? Jamaican? French? American?

I dig it, especially doing hair and the boombox.

You can't appropriate Western culture.

The first mechanical shower was patented in England.

Most of us shouldn’t be taking showers.

This is OP. I know people are making fun of me but honestly if I walked into a white friend's house and their living room had kente cloth wallpaper and tribal masks on it, I would find it strange. If their living room had tiki idol wall paper with their mid century modern decor, I would also do a double take. But that cabinet that pp posted wouldn't get a side eye from me. But it made me wonder if it should and if having furniture from other cultures is ok.

I am South African (black South African). If I saw a white family whose home was decorated in African art, I would be happy and proud.

Wallpaper isn’t furniture.

Tiki and mid century modern are actually historically linked so that combo would be pretty authentic.

Well, tomatoes came from the Americas, so I think the Italians owe us one. You're good.

Does everything need to be about race?

What if your friend worked in Africa for decades and these were all things from when they lived there? What if your “white” friend were *gasp* actually African?

Grow up, OP.

Yes. Let me guess. You have a racial background. Snort. Figures.

All over Asia and China people are wearing western clothes and using western furniture. Do you think they ever thought about cultural appropriation?

Good lord.
