He has. Its time for Pelosi to publicly bring this Problem Solvers bill up for a House vote and McConnell to do the same in the Senate. “President Trump has indicated that he would sign a $908 billion package,” Sen. Cassidy said. “There was only one $908 billion package out there, and that's ours. Leader McConnell has said he's not interested in making a point. He wants something which passes into law. It only can pass into law if it's bipartisan in the House and the Senate and ours is.” https://www.forbes.com/sites/sarahhansen/2020/12/06/trump-and-mcconnell-will-come-on-board-with-908-billion-stimulus-plan-sen-cassidy-says/?sh=17b9a06b7df9 |

Mitch wants protections for companies from COVID lawsuits. if I am being forced to work and the company hasn't taken minimum effort to protect me by mandating masks and having installed plexiglass from the customers, and I get COVID, what is my recourse? |

8 days until the stopgap funding bill expires, which the Senate hasn't even voted on yet, and then 4 days past that Congress is on recess for Christmas holidays.
Seems just irresponsible that again they're down to the last hour. |
Every single day there is not a bill, the pandemic makes us worse off than we should be. This is wrong. Stop negotiating. Pass a bill. Pass a few more next year. |
Which proposals did Mitch McConnell say he would support that Nancy Pelosi rejected? Please provide links to substantiate any claims you make about Mitch McConnell expressing support for a particular proposal. |
Don't be obtuse. If you were watching the talks you'd know negotiations prior to December 2020 were handled by Pelosi+Schumer representing the Democrats in both House+Senate and Mnuchin+Meadows representing the White House plus GOP House+Senate. The proposals were all raised by M+M without comment or objection from McConnell. |

People are hungry. Kids going without. Congress doesn't care.
Shoplifting is up markedly since the pandemic began in the spring and at higher levels than in past economic downturns, according to interviews with more than a dozen retailers, security experts and police departments across the country. But what's distinctive about this trend, experts say, is what's being taken - more staples like bread, pasta and baby formula. https://www.chron.com/news/article/Stealing-to-survive-More-Americans-are-15790516.php |
It's not true to say that Congress doesn't care. The Dems care. Mcconnell cares but he also has recently come back to the church of fiscal conservatism. Trump DNGAF about people. He is deliberately throwing a wrench in the works, because he wants to cut unemployment in order to force people back to work, all for his legacy numbers. |
If the Dems cared they would have signed a temporary relief bill months ago. Month-after-month bills have been on the table. Nothing was done. Unemployment + stimulus only was also on offer separately from Mnuchin. And before you say that didn't happen - here's McConnell offering it in October. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/10/21/coronavirus-stimulus-update-senate-relief-bill-blocked-as-pelosi-mnuchin-talk.html There was another Senate vote on September 10th. Same thing happened. https://www.rollcall.com/2020/09/10/skinny-coronavirus-relief-bill-defeated-in-senate/ |
Yep. And, Pelosi has admitted she didn't want to pass anything during Trump's presidency. |
Why can’t Mitch negotiate for himself? Meadows isn’t in the House anymore, he’s in the White House. None of this is normal. Why can’t the Senate GOP vote on a bill and take it to conference instead of the Secretary of the Treasury and the White House Chief of Staff negotiating for the Senate? No one voted for them. |
