Why is Madeline pronounced Madelyn?

My daughter is named Madeline (pronouned lynn) and I call her by both -lynn and -line.

Most people call her made-lynn when they read her name, but seriously not a big deal if they say -line. Doesn't bother her or me.

Madeline and Madeleine are different names. Yes Madeline is derived from Madeleine- but it is a variation pronounced MadeLINE. (Like Caroline)
