Jem is the nickname for James though.
Also like Edmund nn Ned.

Beatrix (nn Bea)
Margret (nn Peg or Maggie)

Not according to Harper Lee "Jem" was Jeremy . I like Beatrix but, Bea is too close to Ben. Trixie is cute as a little girl nn. Op, I like both your and your husband's names. Even your older kids names! Whichever you choose they are great.

This wins for dumbest reply of the day.

dp I agree! My kids have 9 letter names and they learned them by age 3! Why assume your kids are going to be stupid?

just name your kid what you are going to call them.

"Jesus Christ!" get off that counter! Yep, name him Jesus Christ.

Start your own hate nn thread, shorty! You would have hated the Silent generation. Every one of my mom's neighbor friends had a nn not related to their name: Red, Bookie, shorty, Buddy etc. Relax, nn are fun and can be a sign of affection.

these are great names!

lottie as a nickname is so try hard for charlotte -- ugh. dial it back with #3.

Lottie has been a nn for years. Even Princess Charlotte is known as "Lottie" I personally like Charlie as a nn better but, it is cute.

I like Ezra and Clara. No need for nicknames.

Charlotte is the oldest.

While Ezra and Clara are nice names we can't use them, as our siblings have kids with those names.

Regarding the nickname discussion , we like nicknames, and so far the kids haven't had trouble learning to spell/ write the longer first names.

Both my kids have nn’s with ee sounds. I love nicknames. Nicknames can also be very cultural.

My kids “main” nicknames are just one of about 20 names I call my kids by.

Btw, I’m an Amanda and I hate the nickname Mandy my family has called me all my life. Weird, right?
