I have a coffee table and end table set by Lane that my parents purchased in the 80s. Glass tops with chrome frame. It was very expensive at the time. I've been holding on to them because I think they've aged pretty well and can be reused although not as a set. Then just the other day I saw a near replica in a design magazine. SO yes some of the glass and metal stuff will come back. I read recently that millenials like pastels but I don't know if that's true. |
The 80s are still here, they just moved to Florida. |
Nailed it. |
I'm trying to figure out how to modernize the glass blocks. I've seen a few photos with black frames around the blocks and smaller blocks that look great. We are building an apartment over our garage that will look into our bedroom and I want the apartment to have light but maintain our privacy. |

I still like glass blocks, but only in certain areas and minimally used. |
Why not? If the frilly, floral dress look can come back, why not frilly floral curtains? |
I wish you luck! I have seen them nicely done and I love it. Keep in mind they aren?t specific to the eighties. You could look at some 30s -40s pics for more inspiration. |
Something about the eighties that has definitely come back is maximalism. I?m more of a minimalist myself but I do like the change. |
I predict a lot of pastels in our near future. |
This whole thread *shudder* |
Hadn't heard of The Wing. Just googled it and that look is ....unfortunate. |
Awww. I miss that pattern in the armless pink and green floral-y chairs. I think I had a matching NAF-NAF shirt and pants made of the same pattern material that I wore with a huge white leather belt ...sigh... |
Same here. No one had that decor in my friends homes growing up. That just looks like a condo I could rent in boca. |
This is my ILs house in New Jersey! And no. |
