What is Lawrence University like?

Alum here. It used to be ranked much higher, considered a step behind Carlton but one of the best SLACs in the Midwest. I haven’t followed too closely to see what happened with the rankings. I had a great experience - rigorous liberal arts education, good people and school spirit.

In the promotional videos, the students look pretty quirky/nerdy/alternative. But maybe they're just the ones willing to participate in the videos. I don't know. Just wondering if there is a place for a more conventional, sporty kid.

Just went to their website, the front page video bit looks pretty sporty as do the kids shown. Maybe they were highlighting kids from the conservatory in the video?
