From that list you gave (highest to lowest): Bloomingdales Nordstrom Macy's Lord & Taylor JC Penney Kohl's Sears Heck, I'd rather buy something at Walmart or Target over Sears! |
Bergdorf
Neimans Saks Bloomingdales/Nordstrom L&T Macy’s JC Penny Sears Kohls |
Barney’s
Bergdorf Neimans Saks Bloomingdales/Nordstrom L&T Macy’s JC Penny Sears Kohls |
Who here remembers Woodies... aka Woodward & Lothrop! My very first job. I worked there through HS and some college. Made a couple of life long friends there. I miss Woodies ![]() |
I worked there one college break. And I was a fan of the Wellesley Fudge cupcakes in the bakery, plus the velatis caramels (I know the caramels are still available in silver spring somewhere). |
belk is more like a bloomindales or saks, or neiman marcus. At least the ones in the rich parts of town in the south. |
The flagship Macy’s is a cesspool. The windows are nice at christmastime, but otherwise .... |
I love going to Dillard’s when I travel. So. Many. Dresses. Wish they’d open one in NoVa. |
Oh, hell no. A normal Belk is equal to a Kohl's or maybe Macy's. |
No way. Belk = Macy's |
I also remember Hecht's, which was better than Macy's. |
....and Garfinkle's - those were the good "old" days. |
This! |
I agree with this list. |
