I am AA too and heading there. Wish we could connect.

I'd love to get in touch. You can email me: housemail40ATyahoo.com

Sunnyvale itself consists of three types of population: Hispanic (mostly in the north; bad schools); south Asian (young tech workers and some families, all over town); white mostly Jewish (near the two good elementary schools). The good schools are overcrowded and hard to get into. Not a very balanced school district in that sense.
East Palo Alto is a place I would look into, it is rapidly gentrifying, has a significant AA population, is not too far from Sunnyvale. But maybe you will want to go private (though I know people who send their kids to public there and are happy- I mean UMC educated people).

What did you decide OP? I'm possibly heading that way too..we are AA with a child. The options seem limited..

Advice about what?

Could be a fantastic opportunity or a pain, depends on your attitude.

You'll be in the epicenter of techworld, for good and for bad.

Schools are good but super intense.
