Why get defensive about it ahead of time? Because that's how these threads always go. There's always a $300k bro in the first five posts. It's selection bias meets bragging. |
| Teacher $70 |
| Meant to add I’m 42 |
Um, we were a full two pages in by the time you made that comment. No need for such a chip on your shoulder. |

I posted mine on page 1. Not bragging, just incredibly lucky and fortunate. Shit dumb luck has a LOT to do with success. |
I don't believe this is salary. Maybe total comp including equity and/or bonus |
Right, you weren't bragging at all. You simply answered the question. It's the same as if someone is asked where did you go to college and you answer Princeton. It's not bragging; it's just responding. The bent out of shape PP seems to be missing that. |
I don't believe it either. |
Inapt analogy. The correct analogy would be if someone asked where the average 30-40-year-old DC male went to school and the other person responded "I went to Princeton." Check out the thread title. |
| Husband and I are both 36, and each make about $135k. He's an engineer with the government, I'm a noprofit executive. |
Also, in response to the couple with the same income as us who said they feel rich af--same here. We don't have kids which is a lot of it, but we do help out family members financially and still feel like we have enough to do whatever we want and still save a ton. |
Nobody has specifically answered the actual question. They have just provided their stats. That's what OP did too. Folks giving their stats - whether high or low income - were simply following suite. That doesn't mean the guy with the high income was bragging. |
