| DC not enrolled at Churchill because we are in private...but I am happy for this report cause it only helps our home value. Yay!! |
Whiteman wasn't ranked. |
PP has ranked them in her head. Far more important than us news. |
Eh. The DCUM answer is that Whitman kids tanked the tests on purpose to protest standardized testing. Of course, when an overwhelmingly white school does poorly on a test, it must be because they are too smart for the test. There's always a *reason.* When a school with Black/Latinx kids has poor test scores, it must be "a culture of ignorance" or some such nonsense. |

So the methodology means you have to have disadvantages students as a control group within the school...hence town-based (and non-diverse schools within a county) are effectively excluded.
I get the rationale, and no metric is perfect, but looks like budget cuts at USNews made them forget to do a gut check on results. At then end of the day, whatever - it's not like anyone really thinks these rankings matter much. |
| I wo der where Whitman is as well Aren't they typically on the USNWR list? I wonder if they didn't provide data (and if so, you have to wonder why ...). |

Did B-CC not give data to US News again this year? |
| Eleanor Roosevelt in *gasp* PG County is ranked #23 |
uh.. plenty seem to. Hence OP's post. |
Money well spent on private! (oops) |
Have at it, it could be ranked super duper and it is still in PG |
Right back at you with Churchill, as it is still in Potomac. - NP from MoCo |
So Churchill and Wooton can make the list because do have "least advantaged" students? I wonder where they live. |
Scotland area for Churchill. I don't know about Wootton. I'm not sure, though, how Churchill can be considered in regards to low income students since the % of FARMS there is less than 5%. In Wootton, it's about 5.5%. |
| I'm sure the kids who are bused to Whiteman don't count. |
