I am as liberal as they come, and think this policy is misguided and poorly implemented, especially with respect to people who were brought here as children. At the same time, this kind of reductive "logic" drives me nuts. In an effort to skew the discussion, many liberals routinely refer to "undocumented immigrants" who have "improper paperwork," implying that it is akin to failing to renew your driver's license. But it is not that. "Undocumented" is just a polite, and misleading, way of saying that a person did not come into this country in compliance with out immigration laws - in other words, illegally. Because of that, they don't have the "paperwork" that demonstrates that they are legally in the U.S. Not having "papers" is not a crime in and of itself - it is the result of, and evidence of, the unquestionably illegal act of coming into this country without complying with the law. I really think the liberal insistence in implicitly characterizing this as an administrative infraction hurts the cause. There are better ways to address it than what the "so-called" President has done, but let's at least be honest about what we're dealing with. |
Good , they need to stop draining our school budgets gtfo |
| They need to go. No respect for our laws. Round them up, send them back and give them a brochure on how to legally immigrate to this country. |
| We would have better schools if we didn't have educate these little non-English speakers. Time to go home and make Latin America great again instead of working under the table here. |
| The hate and racism that conservatives have in their hearts is truly breathtaking. |
Try making sense of real statistics instead of running off of opinion articles. They are not deporting violent criminals. |
There's a really good chance one of these kids ends up opening a business and employing your kid. |
| How many of you have "papers" in your house? My passport is in a safe deposit box, along with my birth certificate. There is no requirement for me to have any papers. So how do I prove my citizenship if stopped. I'm not actually Hispanic. But I look pretty "brown". |
And those criminals are still living in the US at our expense??? |
Yes. It costs a lot to house them in prisons. Even more so if they are on death row. You know what decrease the number of deaths by gun violence? Yep, stricter gun laws, especially for those with mental health issues. What's Trump doing about that? I know what the R congress just did regarding people with mental health issues and access to guns. |
Unless your ancestors were from an English speaking country, chances are, a teacher had to help your ancestor learn English. |
This country needs to get rid of them. |
What race is illegal? Is it wrong to "hate" criminals? Are liberals that screwed up? |
Get them out of this world. |
There's a really good chance one of these kids is sucking down immense amounts of taxes to teach them English, raising citizen taxes and diminishing the funds available for citizens to be educated. |
