Let's see if they actually bring it in for the $6 million.

I think Gilbane is a good choice and they do a bunch of work in this area and have local staff. I have friends and neighbors who are site managers. That being said, $6 million seems low for the work needed at St. Elizabeth's, right? I'm not a pro but that isn't a lot of money for a campus that size.

This is just for putting in the roads and sidewalks as well as water and electrical infrastructure. Given the cost disparity, it is a no brainer to not go with Ft Myer. It does raise the question of how much Ft Myer and other preferred contractors were receiving for other projects and where that extra money ended up. I notice Adrian Fenty doesn't work these days. I guess he made a killing being Mayor.

Fenty is working at Perkins Coie (law firm). Has been there for 3+ years.

I think he's making a killing dating a Billionairess. Let's not forget Bowser was a Fenty protege.

Way to go Muriel.

Bring on Kenyan, Karl or gasp, Vince Grey.

Talk about ACTUAL corruption.

Vince Grey would actually be a breath of fresh air. Seriously.

Yes. For Gray detractors, please cite how he enriched himself while serving as mayor.

No one is accusing Bowser of enriching herself.

I don't remember the contractor cronyism when Gray was mayor. A few allegations lobbed against Fenty but don't remember about it in re Gray. Bowser's folks do not seem to have the light touch when it comes to this given how they bungled the 8 ward shelters plan.

So is the council going to do something about this? I mean, can Bowser really be a fault for this?

I find this appalling.

I'm sorry, but what have Kenyan or Karl done that was corrupt?

Yes, please say more. I like both McDuffie and Racine, even though I did not support him for AG primary. How did Gray enrich himself?

That's my takeaway. This is going to be another Duke Ellington Project. Bid low, obtain the contract, and then in the middle of the contract claim the contract was underfunded and requires more money to complete.

NP. I don't know of any corruption surrounding Kenyan. But he has been a weak, ineffective, non-responsive, councilmember for my Ward. Although, I will not sign the current petition to have him removed, I will not vote for him again.
