Growing up I used to love going to Pizza Hut. The pizza was really really really good.

Seems fitting for the line about pizza and sex, even when its bad its still pretty goo(atleast for a guy)

Oh I LOVED Golden Corral as a kid. Hadn't been to one in years but a couple years ago we were down in Richmond and I was pregnant and NEEDED those yeast rolls. So we went and couldn't get over how horrible it was. Again, I don't know if the quality of the food got worse over the last 20 years or if I just know better now but wow, it was so bad.

My first job was at a Pizza Hut. "Would you like to try our new Pepperoni Lovers pizza?"

Other than that, we never ate there or had their pizza.

It was for Book It. I loved going to Pizza Hut with my family to have my Book It pizza.

+1 Book It!! Using my Book It coupons was something I really looked forward to. I loved the personal pan pizzas. I haven't been to a Pizza Hut in years...thanks for the memories, OP

Book It was the best! I was a voracious reader as a child, so it was like getting free pizza for something I loved and was going to do anyway!

The sodas, Pepsi products, I think tasted especially good served in those red plastic Texsomething brand glasses.

My grandparents had a set in harvest gold.

Once I was in Florida and a few girlfriends and I went to Pizza Hut. It was as disgusting as we thought it was.

Wow. Aren't you a gem?

Yep. Even here in DC, my parents never got Pizza Hut. It was always Ledo's or local companies. Maybe cause my mom is a New Yorker. The handful of times I had Pizza Hut growing up I thought it tasted like cardboard

I can't do pizza anymore...there are too many healthier options out there. But I do miss it sometimes!

I also loved Pizza Hut as a kid. I remember the restaurants having big booths and video games, and it being kind of overstuffed and cozy with deep dish pizza.

I was shocked when we went to the local Pizza Hut because my child had earned a gift certificate at school. It was cold, spartan, and nothing like the family restaurant I remembered.

Pizza Hut here is gross. When DH and I go to the sit-down Pizza Huts in our hometown though, it's as good as it was when we were kids. I loved Book It and Pizza Hut was the place to go to lunch on a school half-day. Yum!

I can't see myself going to a sit down pizza hut. It's so depressing and empty 90% of the time.

Do the sit down Pizza Huts still have salad bars? I remember going as a kid and my mom loved the salad bar. I would always play "Friends in Low Places" on the jukebox, LOL.

So, does anyone have a suggestion for something in the DC area that is similar to the Pizza Hut some of us remember from our childhoods? I love Pete's and other high-end pizza joints, but sometimes you just want deep dish pizza, cold soda, and cozy booths instead of an industrial motif and artisanal ingredients.

Interesting. I also used to love Pizza Hut as a kid and now I don't care for it. I really don't know if the pizza changed or if I did.

Of all the threads I have seen on DCUM, this one is the most disturbing of all

PEOPLE. NO. Pizza Hut is foul.

I hope the moderator shuts this thread down.

Question for you all, I feel this way about Subway bread and cheese. I feel like Subway bread used to taste much better, as did their white American cheese. Did it change too over the last twenty years or am I just remembering it better than it was, because its not that good now.
