Jiro dreams of sushi |
The world according to Dick Cheney (On Showtime on demand) is frighteningly good |
+1 on Tupac. Also Nine Lives of Marion Barry. Really fascinating, not kidding. |
Have you seen Finding Vivian Meier? FASCINATING!! |
Searching for Sugarman-- so good |
Cropsey...still gives me the creeps.
12th and Delaware...it's about the pro life vs. pro choice movement. I thought going in I'd be all pissed off at the pro life stance but honestly, both sides portrayed felt smarmy to me, it was interesting perspective to have. Saving Face...about women in Pakistan who were burned by acid attacks...really powerful and really sad. |
I second The Dark Matter of Love...incredible story. Considering all the horror stories of avoidant personality disorder present in kids adopted from orphanages abroad, this was an amazing story. |
Guys and Dolls-really freaking weird but also fascinating (and a little bit sad) |
Is this about those dudes who replace actual human contact with their sex dolls, like that Davecat guy? Sad is right. |
There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane got me worse than Dear Zachary and Dear Zachary destroyed me. I didn't know anything about Dear Zachary going in, but I could see the ending coming and was bracing for it. But Aunt Diane just got me right in the heart and made me angry. |
+1 for The Last Just Man. Incredibly powerful. |
If you're interested in sports at all, a lot of the ESPN 30 for 30 shows are good. |
Clearly we were separated at birth. I agree with your entire list. |
Seriously The Queen of Versailles - if you haven't seen it you have to.
Slow mo train wreck, right on your screen. |
"Dreamcatcher" it focuses on Brenda Myers-Powell, who survived an unbelievably tough life and twenty-five years as a sex worker in Chicago and now runs the Dreamcatcher Foundation, offering counselling to women on the streets, in prison or in otherwise desperate straits.
It will change you. Made me realize there are still truly beautiful people left on this planet. |
