What happend to Famous Amos cookies??

They probably tried to make them “healthier” and took out the hydrogenated oils, preservatives, artificial flavoring.

They were never anything special. Fine for a mass marketed cookie, but that's it.

You never had them 20 years ago - they were so good. A hint of coconut, perfectly sweet, a good crumble (but not crispy) yet some still slightly melty chocolate chips for a boxed cookie.

The new ones taste like cardboard. They are awful.

Flashing back to my favorite vending machine breakfast in high school (the golden years of the mid-90s): Famous Amos cookies and vanilla coffee.

That’s weird.

They used to be decent back in the day. The last time I tried them, they were so awful I just threw them out. The best bagged cookies I’ve had recently have been Tate’s. There GF varieties are delicious and I actually like prefer them to the ones made with wheat. The ginger cookies are excellent.

I agree. I thought my taste buds changed as well, but I'm glad to find out that they didn't. It's just FA recipe that changed. Too bad. That's how you lose customers. I wish they would go back to the old recipe

Yes! It was the hint of coconut that made them taste so good! They’ve been awful for quite some time, but they used to be delicious.

I love that someone resurrected this thread! These cookies were the best until they changed the recipe.
