"Twilight" series for Tweens

It is aimed at kids your daughter's age. Assuming your kid is a normal girl who can tell fiction from reality, and knows that reading can be about escape (of course she does), then let her read it.

Let her read The Hunger Games instead. Talk about a female role model!

I don't like the censoring of books. Reading all kinds of things to build up speed, comprehension, and vocabulary is important. Simply enjoying reading is also important. Obviously Twilight won't be great literature, but whatever.
I remember my mom having no qualms when I read Lolita in 7th grade. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recall coming across some new vocab when reading it (as in SAT-type vocab). Some other mom saw me reading it she shrieked at me, though. "You're reading that?!" Yes, yes I was. I turned out just fine, and I did not desire to pursue an affair wih an older man

I read the books and liked them, but they aren't for Tweens, more like fir a 16yo or older. The books are all emotional and about falling in love, don't key your 11yo read them. Introduce her to ?Land of Stories, Harry Potter, city of Ember, these are all great series
