Why Americans have a limited ability to appreciate football (soccer)?

Neither is baseball.

It's only boring because you didn't play it.

This is from somebody who loves March madness and nfl football... But the fact is... Most of us did not play a high level of soccer because we were playing football, basketball and baseball.

A new generation of kids are playing soccer (and lacrosse) ... And the love of the sport will come.

Kids have been playing since the 70s. Makes no difference.

The rest of the world loves it because you only need one piece of equipment to play. Barrier to entry is small.

Americans have options.

Yes, and right now, most of them are watching Messi instead of trolling on a message board.

Who cares. Is this just another thread to say how stupid Americans are and how cultured the rest of the world is? Football, soccer. They are just sports and are only entertainment.

Drives him crazy.

Seriously, everyone I know is watching it. I think the OP is probably drunk and lives outside a metro area.

+1. Even my MOTHER knows which matches have been on this weekend and what happened. She was just discussing upsets at our Father's Day dinner. Frankly, I was a little surprised that even older Americans are paying attention.
