I have Pandora too, but prefer the radio personally or I Heart Radio on my Roku. Despite picking my artists on Pandora, it seems to play lots of songs I hate and have to skip. |
Personally, I loathe most of the suggestions made on here. Jazz especially. |
I'm the 94.7 poster.
If ads are just a nonstarter for you, then I would do the cable channel with top 40. that has no ads. |
Me too. Swing? Yikes. |
We always play Brendel piano music |
Well then, why not suggest something else? |
Prefer no or very low music. Bkgd music makes it harder to hear convo.
And please no radio. You really want your guests to have to listen to radio commercials? |
Doesn't Pandora time out after a while? I think IHeartRadio plays continously. If you have cable, there's always the music choice channels. |
I vote for swing! That would be so much fun.

At your dinner parties, do you typically serve Pizza Hut and Flavor Blasted Extreme Doritos? |
We got a lot of compliments when we had the Motown station on pandora playing at our last dinner party. |
I've always had luck with down-tempo electronic music.... Think of Thievery Corporation as old school inspiration.... Plenty of newer stuff that's good as well. |
I called in to Martha Stewart's xm radio show once to ask this very question. She didn't answer with the specificity I was looking for, but she did tell me there was Jay-Z on her iPod. |
Norah Jones
Simon & Garfunkel Bob Marley |
I'm serious! Everyone always asks why our dinner parties are more festive and it's the music! I HATE jazz BTW, and am probably one of the older responders on here. ![]() |
