Google Guy is probably law/lobbyist and not computer geek. Google geeks are concentrated in NY, SF or Seattle.

Our household income is $160k.We won't be buying a house in upper NW any time soon.We love AU/Wesley Heights/Glover Park and are about to buy a 2nd condo here(just got an offer accepted on a 1-bedroom condo for $250k).We might be move up up to a rowhouse in about 20 years, but that's probably it.The houses are out of reach ofcourse.

Friendship Heights: Yes a lot of older, longtime residents who are/were journalists, lawyers, foreign service officers etc., newer people have similar jobs, though a lot of attornies, international finance types and non-profit executives (the bigger ones who actually are making 6 figures).

The folks I knew who lived over there were daughters of rich guys (married or otherwise, Daddy bought them the house), young lawyer and justice department hubbie, and older journalists and professors who bought in the 1970s.
