You need to find a different solution so you can work out and shower. Sorry. I hope things get better for you.

Thanks, PP. yes it's been tough.. He's one and I've been showering with him screaming for 12 months. It's been a long road for us. It was awesome to be able to be by myself for the very first time in 12 months, though.

I've seen kids there before and I asked if it was ok. The manager said most moms leave the class before its over because they can only leave the kids there for one hour so I did like every other woman there does so my child wouldn't be left there past the allowed time.

Unfortunately bathing at home won't work since it's a swimming class and I have to change anyway.Id rather have him cry the extra 5 minutes I shower instead of dragging him home and delaying his nap and lunch so I can have the luxury of a shower

Then why didnt you leave the class five minutes early to shower, like every other smart mom?

Critical thinking isn't your strong suit. It's OK. You'll get there some day.

OP here. I'm getting old FAST but I want to avoid the cranky part. And like the article I posted, I'll do my best to not be the kind of asshole who has had children and forget hoe though it is and go around town trying to shame people whose kids are already giving them a hard time.

She did. It might be the only sane, reasonable thing she's said she did today.

Pretty sure we know who Op is...

(Every other woman there takes a screaming child into the locker room to shower?)

OP, I understand why you did what you did. But you did it for your comfort and convenience -- just as the "old lady" would also like to have her comfort and convenience. If I were you, I would have apologized to her, rather than complaining to the manager.

She didn't give me a chance.

And to the lady saying she doesn't like seeing naked women I had to LOL. What are you doing in the locker room then????

sounds like you didn't really parent him correctly if delaying naptime and lunch while you took a 10 minute shower would screw him up that much. Sorry you're not a good parent on top of being bat shit crazy.

But then again, i'm pretty sure this is one of the regular trolls.

Well, you were there, and I wasn't. But I'm finding it hard to imagine how she could have not given you a chance to apologize, unless immediately after talking to your DS, she grabbed a towel and stomped out of the locker room and out of the gym.

Did she give you the stinky eye too?

OP, it is true that grocery stores and gym locker rooms are both public places. But there are also some meaningful differences. For example, it is not reasonable to expect a grocery store to be an adults-only place. Whereas it is reasonable to expect a gym locker room to be an adults-only place.

Deal with your damn kid, OP. I HATE hearing kids screaming and crying and the parent just continues on doing whatever s/he wants. If you are incapable of making him stop, don't foist him on the rest of us just because you " have been hearing it for 12 months." That is NO excuse to subject the rest of the world to your obnoxious child. And yes, I am a mom and I have two kids and no, I would never have done what you did. A kid that out of control should be left at home. You are SELFISH, OP, and a bitch. Nothing else explains your behavior.
