You live in VA so go with 703, especially if your cell is not a local number.
571, yuck. I thought that was only for cell phones. 202- that's just weird. Why have your home phone number attached to a place that is not even your state? |

703
|
| I would go with 703, It shouldnt say your city on the caller ID. It will give the number and your name. At least thats what comes up on my caller ID. |

@DC Snob. OP here, We can more than afford (OLD MONEY) to live in DC but find VA more suited to our needs/interests. I mean really.... why would we want to surround ourselves with stuck up NEW MONEY snobs like you?
Thanks for the help to all the others. |
| new money means you made it on your own merit, it would be a badge of honor. |
Oh please bitch you're lying. If you we're really old money you'd either live in old money DC (Georgetown, Mass Ave. kalorama) or Va horse country in which case you'd love the 571. I bet you're a GS-11 with an countdown clock to age 65 when you can fleece the taxpayers in retirement with that sweet pension. |

You don't live in DC, people will laugh at you behind your back if you live in Falls Church and have a 202 area code. Take the 703 if it's available.
-someone who went through the same choice in MD with 301/240/202 |
Yes, it is recognized as DC. Which is why people will laugh at someone in VA calling them from it. |
| No, no one cares about someone's area code. If so, fuck 'em. |
| 1434++ You guys are cracking me up! |
| Why are you worrying about what the area code says about the town in Virginia? That has nothing to do with it. If you have a traditional number, it's the first three digits that gives away your area. For example, Arlington is a lot of 525, 527, and 528. (there are others, but those are the ones I see a lot). Those traditional ones are also the ones that sometimes the phone company gets in your face about and won't let you carry with you if you move out of that boundary even if you're within the same area code. It's really stupid, but it's happened to several friends. I've kept my number for four moves, but I never left Arlington. |

I loe this thread. If I got a call from a 202 and caller ID said Arlington, I would be like WTF and not answer. If I did accidentally answer and you told me you picked the 202, I would think you were totally bizarre and purposefully trying to get some sort of edge by having a 202. Seriously, why? You live in 703, you are being a poser, I am just sitting here thinking hmmmm?????
if you are Old money, you wouldn't be asking this question and would never go with 202 unless you lived in the District. And 571, PP was right, my contractor and all my service people have a 571, too funny now that I think about it. |
+1. I live in Old Town and never want to give up my 683 number. |
get a life, lady |
