Oh, and I dropped from 240 to 197 eating around 2000-2100 calories per day. I am 5'11" and I do work out a lot. You don't need to starve yourself to lose weight - I don't know how I'd manage on 1500 long term!

The PP's offer good advice...but...you always have to be honest about what works for you best. All diets work...that is, if you stick to them. So you need to find a diet that is easy for you. I've counted calories, done WW, Atkins, etc etc...what finally worked for me was following a "French Women Don't Get Fat" type diet and not eating breakfast, not exercising too much, and drinking a lot of coffee. It's probably not the healthiest diet, but I can stick to it. I'm thinner than before I got married (and I gained 70lbs with pregnancy) and I'm happy! I don't kill myself at the gym...which I hate. And I DO get to eat whatever I want (I watch portions), but if I want a cookie for lunch that's what I have. You'd be amazed though that when you give yourself the freedom to choose...those healthy salads actually look WAY more appetizing and I crave salad often. I also weigh in everyday because I don't count calories I like to keep myself honest.

I'm not suggesting to follow this...just follow what you find works for you. The hardest part is sticking to something and don't make yourself miserable.

Just checking in to see how you're doing, OP!

I myself have been on the Paleo diet now for about 10 days. I am also using a FitBit and tracking my food. I don't think I've lost any weight, but I'm eating better that is for sure.

Let us know how it is going!

Cheering for you, Olivia. Don't let anything discourage you. Stick with it and focus on long-term goals of health and longevity, rather than "I'm fat and I want to look good in my clothes" and you will have more consistent motivation. That's what worked for me. You can do this!

How are things going, OP?

Sadly, I think Olivia has forgotten .... either about this thread or her weight loss plan or both

Yep. Sorry to sound rude, but this is why people don't lose weight...inability to create a workable plan, join a plan, etc. and stick to it. Stuff is hard!
Or, maybe Olivia is finding motivation somewhere other than DCUM. Could it be?
