Definitely not clinical psychology. I have a doctorate and earn less than 100k/yr. It is possible to make more though in private practice (but most max out at 130-150k). Unless you're Dr. Phil...

Is this a general degree?

PhD in a technical field.

OP: why after ten years are you still an assistant? Perhaps the degree isn't your sole trouble?

As you can see, the best undergrad degrees are science, tech, engineering, and mathematics. Economics is the only degree in the top 20 outside of STEM.

They should hand this out in the freshman year. Of high school.

haha! Pretty funny, no degree and my w2 was 165K in 2011 and it is a very rare week that I crack 40 hours.

J.D. But I still owe almost $100k in loans, which I pay back at about $1200/month, and I'm currently working with no plans to go to bed anytime in the next few hours. Fortunately, I was able to spend almost 90 minutes with my kid today.

BSCE = Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
MSE = Master of Science in Engineering (in my case Transport and Urban Systems). Not a general degree, it is awarded from engineering school in a defined specialty area within a branch of engineering and typically with a master's thesis.

Do you teach? Do research? I know someone getting this degree who doesn't know how to make money without doing research.

MA in International Economics

PP, if you're still reading, do you ming sharing where are you working? My husband just got an MS in International Economics and is having trouble getting a job- he thinks he needs a PhD too. Or maybe it's just the economy right now?
