Who wears just a simple, plain wedding ring?

I wear a VERY thin, channel set platinum diamond band. My engagement ring is beautiful and special to me, but like OP, I love the simple understated look.

Me. Simple thin white gold band, cost about a hundred bucks. I had a simple, antique-style pattern engraved on it, my husband has a Celtic pattern on his. We both work outside a lot, so didn't make a lot of sense to get anything fancy.

OP here. Thanks all; I've enjoyed reading your responses and descriptions of your cherished rings. Keep them coming!

I actually have a diamond engagement ring and a diamond wedding ring, but I also have a plain band too. At the end of the day, I love coming home and taking off my diamond rings and putting my plain ring on. It feels good and like a relief to my fingers, like taking off a business suit at the end of a long day. I like that I don't have to worry about getting lotion all over my diamonds and I just think a plain band is so classic and screams "married."

I have a nice engagement ring (well nice to me, maybe to some it would not be up to par) but I don't wear it. I don't want DS to get cut or scraped.

I only wear a band because I like to work out during lunch and I am terrified of losing my engagement ring if I take it off. I normally wear the set on special occassions.

I love wearing my plain platinum band. My engagement ring is somewhere in a box. I never wear it...

I have a fairly simple ring: 18K gold with only a 1/4 carat diamond in a platinum setting. It is the only ring I wear; we never had a formal engagement, so I don't consider it an engagment ring. My husband's ring matches mine, just an 18K gold band (no diamond though).

I always think that wearing two rings on one hand looks uncomfortable and frankly kinda gross (do people get stuff caught in there all the time?).

We bought our rings in Germany where most people only wear simple bands and I think that was part of our decision too. I do like the simple, classic look as well.

I only have a thin yellow gold band because I don't really like diamonds and also because in my culture engagement rings are not used.

I used to have the matching set but once I lost my wedding band I got so upset we just resorted to the simple look.

And we're very pleased with it

I do. I love my engagement ring and do wear that too when I dress up, but otherwise it isn't practical. I am afraid I will hurt one of my kids with it. The diamonds are not huge or anything, but the setting I chose isn't practical for dragging kids about. I have no idea what this setting is called. If I poked a kid in the eye with this i could do some major damage.

I don't wear a wedding ring at all.

Used to wear my band (very simple gold band), but hubby cheated and I couldn't stomach wearing it again. Keep saying we'll get replacement bands, but I haven't done it yet (over 4 years now). I'm now used to not wearing a ring, so no rush for me to get anything.

Me too. I did not want an engagement ring. Not my style.

I wear a simple gold band. I like the idea of an engagement ring, but I'm concerned about blood diamonds and there are other stones I like better, but never took the time to look for rings.

Been married nearly 11 years and do not wear a wedding ring, nor does my husband.

PP here, but the way, I don't wear a ring due to comfort, not b/c he cheated or vice versa
