"Larla" as girl's name

What about Larkin (great poet by the way)? You could always call her Lark for short. I would have done this but didn't think of it 6 years ago. You can have it, OP.

Laura and Carla are both nice names. Crashing them into each other is cruel.

OP, have we convinced you? Were you only joking?

Thanks - My name is Laura, and I've come to really appreciate it! And I've known many Carlas in my life - another nice name.

Sounds like how my 5 yo with apraxia of speech says his teacher's name - Miss Laura comes out Miss Larla.

Reminds me of 'gargle'

Lara and Laura-- yes. "Larla" ? No. Sounds trashy. Combination of lard and larva.

Please don't go with Darla, unless you have a son you named Dale. Oh sorry, thats a whole different post, but don't go with Darla, or Larla

Nice one, OP. You got everyone to agree to a "no", that must be a DCUM first!

By the way, I think I sprained my tongue trying to say it out loud.

No. IMO, made up names are never a good choice.

Very awkward and definitely sounds made up.

I guess it's better than as a boy's name.

No, sorry.

It sounds like someone REALLY drunk trying to say "Laura"

Only if you want to give your child a gift of difficulty every time they introduce themselves. They will have to pronounce, spell and correct people frequently for the rest of their lives. Please don't.

Sounds like Lila with a terrible drawl/speech impediment.

But Layla is pretty, nothing like Larla!
