At the risk of drawing ire- so much this. Men are simple creatures. There is simply no way she didn't see her husband was unhappy with a 'ho hum' marriage. Did she try to keep him close, happy and loved? Or did she just let him drift away to another woman who was eager to sleep with him, see him smile, listen to his thoughts.... |
Yeah, men are line up for mid 50s women with 60 hour work week careers and three daughters on the cusp of HS and college... Did you even think about what you stated before you barfed it onto our screens? |
Yes, there’s always someone out there, for any women. Obviously, it will not be easy, but it is not impossible. Yes, I thought about what I said. What’s wrong with I said?- 17yr old (her daughter’s age!). |
That’s right, always blame the woman. |

New lady is going to want a baby. Can you imagine being mid 50s and doing baby night feeding, sleep cycles until age 5, etc.
And that's not even touching increased risks of all sorts of diagnoses his old sperm will pass along to a kid. Hopefully it's a girl so the new lady will be one-and-done. |
He’s not a first-year associate. They’ll throw money at it. Day nanny, night nanny, housekeeper, and so on. |

I agree with some of what people are saying here but I think they are mostly missing the main point of the request by the husband, which is that he wants to avoid lots of conflict that would harm the children. That request makes sense to me if he is willing and able to negotiate a fair resolution.
Some people who are wronged by their spouses actually WANT conflict. They WANT the kids to hate the cheater. I don't think that's good for anyone. |

Marriage could have broken due to one of the following reasons:
He is an a-hole or stupid or both She is an a-hole at home She gotten fat or could look much more older than her age She was abusing him by denying him sex |
| Happens every day. |
Then HE should have come to her groveling and making clear he would give her everything she asked for within reason. |
Nah. He just wants to exit looking like a saint, not the mid-life cliche. |
Okay kid. Wishful thinking, but no you’re wrong. Go do your homework. |
If anything, he's probably fantasizing about a baby boy with his new girlfriend. American women (most women but it seems especially pronounced in American culture) have a strong preference for daughters, that's true, but men tend to still have a preference for sons. |
LMAO if I got divorced at this point, there’s no way I’d wanna get in another relationship with a man! I’d wait for my besties husbands to pass and live it up Golden girls style. |
Wut? |
