+1. Also very bad behavior on social media. |
| In a different metro, a cheating conspiracy got several senior students expelled in May. In the cases I know about, the college admissions offers were rescinded. |
lol |
If expelled, how does the private still issue a diploma? If something serious enough for expulsion, it would seem odd to issue a diploma? |
Did the school help the student figure out next steps after expulsion ? Had the student already been accepted to college or was it before college decisions? |
classmates reported it? how did administration become aware? is this a hypothetical? Expulsion 2 months before graduation is serious at any school? Schools generally wouldn't want to put any family through this unless absolutely breaking rules ? |

pooping on the floor in the middle of the science lab
drawing a mustache on the principal in the yearbook reading playboy magazine in the library |
These feel more like that 70's show 🤣 |
| Racism |
It's more a de facto expulsion in these cases with seniors. |
| Expelled kid was a strong student. Enrolled in local state college that spring and admitted to a middle tier LAC. It definitely doesn’t stop your academic path but it’s a hiccup. |

I know of a few (not recent). I think they all went back to the local public or a private closer to home if they were boarding and may have negotiated with the school to allow them to withdraw instead of be expelled so that their college path was mostly unaltered.
The one related to me was caught dealing but had a parent on the board and went home for “medical reasons”. |
| I’ve heard of two over the years. One of a kid found with a loaded gun in his car (security saw it) and the second of a kid who stole athletic equipment and sold it online. |
Matthew Broderick also pulled that trick earlier in War Games. |
| I suspect there are also incidents where the student is allowed to leave/drop out rather than be formally expelled. |
