I always loved the name. She went by Xochie (pronounced SO-chee)

Whoa! Did not know that was a girl’s name until this thread. I think of the tortilla chips at the grocery store

The only one I know is Xanthippe (pronounced “Zan-thip-ee” or “Zan-tip-ee”. From Ancient Greece. Was the name of Socrates’ wife. I think this would be a hard name to have.

I knew someone with this name when I was a kid. She was kinda punk and totally pulled it off.

I also vote for putting the X name as the middle name.

Unsurprisingly, we’re having a difficult time finding a name that starts with X. Most of the ones that we have come across are strange.

Do not do this to your child.

What is wrong with you?

For me, it’s B, E, F, G, H, O, P, R, and T plus all of the letters that you listed. Zero decent names that I actually like. I say this as someone whose own name begins with E!

On the bright side, being so picky made naming my children easy because I was able to quickly narrow down my choices and veto certain picks from the husband. (He vetoed many of my picks too.)

Now I’m wondering what your kids’ names are. You eliminated over half of the alphabet. That’s crazy to me.

I have 5 children. We still had plenty of names to choose from. I won’t say the actual names, but their names begin with A, J, K, M, and N. They’re very nice names.

😁 Your list eliminates almost all my kids' names.

My kids' names begin with H, L, R, T, and G. Only my "L" son's name isn't automatically eliminated according to your list of letters.

We were lucky when naming our children, for I vetoed a bunch of names (including Nathan, Nathaniel, Noah, Jackson, Isaac, Daniel, Roman, Graham, Ava, Mariah, Emma, Ella, Addison, Piper, Kylie, Sarah, and Georgia), and he vetoed a few names, but we wound up with five first and middle names that we both love. Only one of our five kids has a name that is slightly common. The others are extremely uncommon. I am a teacher, so it is difficult to find names about which I don't have strong feelings. That's probably why our kids have uncommon names. 😁

I know a xena.

She will hate it, everytime she introduce her name she has to spell it… you know, Xia, with an ‘x’

Save the X name for the middle name. When you're stretching for a first name to accommodate someone from a different generation and a different gender you are going in the wrong direction. The kid needs to live and inhabit the name so be kind to the kid.
