It needs more time and research and public engagement |
Enrollment is not declining. On Key West/Darnestown roads there is a huge development with families tons of kids most are average age 10 and younger. They are not included yet in anything. UGH It is very dense with apartments and townhomes. |
Yeah but legally they can definitely do it |
Not by March |
Woodward is brand new and a holding school for Northwood. It’s not a waste as it eventually will open as a permanent school. |
They can definitely decide Crown's new boundaries by March. And if something like Option H is chosen, they can then begin the official processes to make Wootton's building a holding school. |
No, the board can’t just legally approve Option H under the guise of a boundary study and then do a full relocation process later. |
Why not? The board can reassign all of Wootton to Crown if it so chooses. |
They can’t unless they close Wootton. Closing Wootton needs a different process and the outcome cannot be pretermined by a boundary study. |
Seems like they're not proposing closing Wootton, only relocating it and changing its boundaries. |
Relocating is the same as it needs a different process. Ceasing to operate at the historical building is closing. |
The board can approve relocations. They've done it several times before. |

Again, this cannot be done by a boundary process. |
No one is saying that it can. |
Is this a development that's already open? If so, how could they possibly be not accounted for yet? |
