The odds of us all getting confused by the Arcila calendar seem low.

One of you must have confused the others. The two days before Thanksgiving were half days so maybe you assumed these were too. I looked back to when the board adopted this calendar last year and they have always been full days.

No we did not! Everyone had separately thought these were half days. If it was just us the. I assume our school put out something with incorrect dates. We just got an email from the principal reminding all parents today is a full day of school so the confusion clearly spreads beyond my friends

It's because MCPS always does two early release days on Monday and Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving. So as a parent I associate a two-day school week with two half days.

I think it's because there is a traditional calendar and an innovative calendar and they are different - https://publisher.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/pdf/2025-2026%20Traditional%20and%20Innovative%20School%20Year%20Calendars.pdf

I do as well, but once I checked the actual MCPS calendar online, it is accurate and I knew I had not assumed correctly.

Ditto assuming the two days before break were half days

But the two days before Thanksgiving break were made into half days to allow for parent-teacher conferences.

I tutor kids in MoCo, and yesterday I Googled the MCPS calendar to see if kids had school (mine is out of the nest) and what I pulled up from the first link had half days today and tomorrow.

That’s for the innovative (year round ) schools only.

It was a normal day in elementary school. They had homework tonight.
