Life since 2020-Did you purge or stock-up and hoard things?

I'm doing no-buy year for 2026, because I want to do it.
There were times when I did shop a lot and stocked up, but I was stressed about some family thing. All good now and my need for stocking up/shopping has disappeared.
If we do run out of things as a country, I will take it like a champ. I'll be the least affected as I know how to live on less.

Think about starting a thread for this when the new year approaches. I'd be on board.

Didn't change anything, we didn't hoard a whole lot during Covid either. We always keep about a month supply of water and non perishable food and similar items because we live in an area hit by Blizzards.

What do you have left from the stockpile? Are you talking about food, tp, or cleaning supplies?

Finally able to offload all the cans Lysol we stock piled during that time.

I FINALLY got rid of the hand sanitizer we stocked up on during covid.

Did you toss or donate it?

How many are left? I've used all mine.

I stock up on non-perishables whenever the news makes me nervous. So I have enough on hand to give to every food drive I encounter.

But I'm purging worldly goods, so my kids won't have to. And trying to sell some things now while people still have money to buy them,

Yes, all of those things unfortunately plus medical supplies. I just had a baking day and used up a bunch of ingredients.

I am hoarding my pre-2020 clothes bc the quality of newer stuff is terrible. But each year that passes I lose more of them.

Example: my fav work shirt is an iron-free button down from LLBean circa 2016-18. I have two of them and they just fit SO great! The cut is flattering, the shoulder seams are in the right place, the fabric is nice.

I have bought newer styles since then but returned them. Sadly no clothing item will last forever and soon I will lose my nice quality pre-pandemic clothes.

Only keep a stock pile of toilet paper. No substitutes available. If I run out of paper towels, I can make due with rags.

This. We’ve never been low on TP since the early days of Covid. Beyond that we just keep a reasonable (1 month?) supply of non perishable foods we eat, toiletries we use up like toothpaste, shampoo, etc.

Many people want to stock up but don't necessarily have space in their homes. Get another freezer? Is that wasting electricity? Build another pantry for those canned items? Space gone for other things. Cans expire. Etc.

I am not a hoarder or prepper in a doomsday sense. I do however find I hate leaving the house so when I go to the grocery store, I buy more then I need at the moment for the sake not having to go back in three days time. Before, I kept very little on hand and went shopping two or three times a week. Now it’s once every 7-10 days.
