Why would they need citizenship or all that? Just go there on vacation and then stay. |
| Europe, besides Poland and Hungary, or other anti-immigrant countries, looks much different than 10 years ago. |
PP here. Unless you have EU citizenship, France is probably the best bet of the countries you mentioned as they give out extendable one year visas fairly easily, although the bureaucracy is onerous. I have been in Malmo and Lille recently, and would urge you to reconsider, or at least spend significant time there before moving. They have both changed majorly in recent years. Sweden now has major gang issues as incredible as that is to believe, and yes, even gun issues. Plus of all the European countries, they have done the most to relocate migrants throughout the entire country to the extent that even small Swedish towns are now greatly burdened. I haven’t been to Ghent, but Brussels is terrible now, and the country is very small. If you are set on an urban area of a Nordic country, I would recommend Aarhus or Aalborg in Denmark, or Oulu in Finland, although that is very far north. Tartu in Estonia is also great, but the winters are long! |
What do you mean by that ? |
If 40% of 18-44 yr old women left, incels would become even more violent and hateful, and you'd definitely have Gilead to force the women left here to birth real American babies. |
| I would not think twice about leaving if given the opportunity. For now I travel as much as I can but I would leave forever if my family was on board. Unfortunately, leaving would be much harder for dh and his habits and hobbies. |
dp.. It means that a lot of western European countries have recently allowed in more non white immigrants. Personally, I like that because it means more variety of food choices. My spouse is from the UK, and when I went to visit their hometown 25 years go, I could count on one hand the number of Asian people there. Now, when we go, I see a lot more of them, and they even have Asian grocery stores there. I love it. I told my spouse I'd be happy to move and retire there. Taxes are not much different than here if your individual income is below $65K, which would be $130K for both of us, and healthcare is so much cheaper. Grocery prices there are sometimes cheaper than here, in part, thanks to Trump's tariffs. |
| We've told our 17 yr old DD that they should keep an open mind about their dual citizenship with the UK and moving there at some point. I'm grateful she has the option; DS, too. |

Many people romanticize moving to another country and living abroad. They paint a new, easier life in somewhere in Europe, Canada, Australia, South Africa…
Every continent, every country has its own safety issues. Being alone in a country where you have no roots can make your life much harder than you think. |

I would leave if we could. Unfortunately we have no access to any other passports, and are stuck here. Stuck watching my rights, and our daughter's rights, erode away at breakneck speed. Watching opportunities for our son dry up faster than you can say AI.
I only hope it doesn't take decades to undo the damage this president has inflicted, and that the idiots in the US of A who voted for him wake the f*ck up and never go down this road again |
There is fewer of you than last year. I wonder why. I did a long stint overseas. It was great. Everyone should try it. No place is a utopia though. |
The UK has some interesting things going on domestically. But it’s good to have options. |
ROTFLMAO. Wanting to leave and being able to are two different things. |
