How much puking are you people doing?? Is this like eating disorder stuff?
no, growing up we had the “blue bowl”. It was kept under the bathroom sink. Kids throw up. Adults throw up. Don’t you get sick?

If i have time to get the blue bowl and bring to sick kid i have time to get them to the toilet. This has never failed me.
what do you do with roto virus and you are already sitting on the toilet?

NP and haven't had roto, but I am on Wegovy which, at times, might as well be the same thing. I grab the small trash can that is next to the toilet.

It is called the barf bowl and was at one time a plastic punch bowl for a party but has only been used for stomach bugs since our kids were little. Now they are old enough to get to the bathroom but we still get it out just in case and it saved us many times when they were small. Teeny kids can’t sit by the toilet waiting to throw up or often recognize the sensation in time

We use a small bathroom trashcan that is lined with a plastic bag so once the puke is over, you just throw away the bag. I’m baffled not everyone does this.

Ugh. Our throw up bowl is only a throw up bowl.

No but our foot wash bucket is our throw up bucket. Its the only bucket in the house.

ah that moment as a kid where you figure out there in only ONE big yellow popcorn bowl. Then declare from there on out you no longer like popcorn, or feel like caesar salad at large family gatherings.

We alternate between a bucket and the little basin we got from the hospital when the kids were born.

when the kid is feeling sick, you bring out the blue bowl and put it beside them. That way, if they can’t make it to the toilet, they have the blue bowl.

Somehow we managed without it.

I feel like everyone's kids are different, but in my house we don't throw up often, but when we there is never a lot of warning before the first time someone throws up. So, they get some random receptacle that is on the same floor in the moment, and which isn't currently holding something else, or in the dishwasher, and then whatever that is, we keep using it for the duration of the illness. So, it could be a bathroom trashcan, or a bowl, or a pot. It could be one of the bowls that also gets used for popcorn.

OMg I can’t believe this many people have a vomit bowl. I raised three kids who are now teens and never had this! Use a toilet! Or a plastic trash can if a toilet isn’t practical. I’d rather have the kids vomit onto the bathroom tile than into my pasta pot!!!!
