Because the YIMBYs believe that everyone should be able have a brand new home inside the beltway, at a price that anyone can afford. They don’t want to live too far out because they want to be able to walk and bike to everything. The natural evolution of a participation trophy society. We have been doing our youth a great disservice for decades by not making them earn things. Now they feel their very existence is all that is needed to have everything they want.

There's plenty of afforable housing. Just not where the young white professionals want to live.

Yes that’s a good example. Or the vast majority of houses along Georgia Ave between forest glen and Wheaton are $500-$600k. A five minute drive to forest glen gets you a super easy metro commute downtown. With the very high salaries in this area, these prices are incredibly affordable. Elrich is absolutely right that the NIMBYs want to destroy these houses to build stuff that is more expensive. It’s stupid.

Anyway, Nimbee is an exercise in sarcasm. I think it's pretty funny.

And yes, Elrich needs to retire instead of running for Council again.

A funny thing about Nimbee is that it reminds about 50% of voters about a big issue they agree with on Marc Elrich on that differentiates Elrich from most of his opponents in a crowded field.

Yeah, that dope. He likes to stick it to people in Takoma Park, as if he actually lives there, but he doesn't. I'll listen to him when he is paying the sky high taxes of Takoma Park.
